Beauty in the Kitchen

Remember my post from the other day about finding beauty (January 10th)? Well this morning we woke up to gray, dreary skies and my hubbie made a comment regarding such. I simply told him to look for the beauty. So he started doing the breakfast dishes(our deal, I cook, he cleans) and I went on to do whatever I was doing. Later on I went into the kitchen and found this.......I've never seen him do this before. I guess he decided to show his "artistic" side. I told him it reminded me of a flower bloom, in an unusual sort of way.

What a thoughtful thing for hubby to do on a dreary day! There was some kind of toy when I was little that you "plugged" pieces together that often made designs like that. Do you remember?

Wow Miss SuzyQ---You do have a good guy, don't you???? Such TALENT!!! Maybe you need to enter him in a talent contest!!!

It's snowing here in TN this morning --so I'm a Happy Camper!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

I think your husband did a great job of finding (and creating) the beauty of the day.

Hi Again, Forgot to tell you that we have never hiked Alum Cave Bluffs. Our friends (Judy and Charlie--in my today's blog) have done it many times. In fact, they hike all the way to LeConte every year.

We have hiked to Rainbow, Grotto, and Baskins Creek Falls in the Smokies--along with many others.
Hugs,
Betsy

Gotta love a guy with a sense of humor.

That's funny! He found the beauty in doing the dishes didn't he?

isn't it amazing how attitude has everything to do with the way we perceive the life around us.
that is indeed beautiful and i am touched the your hubby picked up on your idea right away doing what most of us feel is a mundane task. i just got finished washing dishes and i certianly didn't have the right frame of mind.
happy monday to you susie.

Looks like hubby has a creative side to his personality! :)

Mildred-I do remember that toy set you played with. It was made from wood and you stuck all these pegs into little round things. I don't remember what it was called tho.

Betsy-I'm happy for you that it's snowing. I bet you got a smile on your face. We never hiked all the way to the lodge. We never go an early enough start to the hike. But we do enjoy that trail much.

George-I think he decided to show off his "artsy" side.

flydragon-He does have a unusual sense of humor.

Darla-That's what I thought. He never seems to mind doing the dishes tho. Aren't I lucky?

Marmee-You are so right, attitude is everything. I hope sense you finished the dishes your day is going great for you.

Racquel-He doesn't let that part of his personality out much so I just had to snap a picture and write about it.

Hey Susie, another thing that probably helps your husband have a good attitude doing the dishes is something my husband always tell us...Be glad you have food to dirty them dishes up!

Susie said...

Darla-Amen to that sister!!!

How funny! And creative. Love the deal you two have together!!!

Susie said...

Jacquie-My honey can be quite funny when he wants to be. Our deal works pretty good except sometimes(as crazy as this sounds) I really want to wash the dishes. He always says NO WAY. Oh well, what's a girl to do?

You lucky girl!! Enjoy! Mine cooks sometimes, and when he does, I clean up! I love it when he says, "Would you like for me to cook 'Brunch' for us?" I'm lucky, too!

Susie,

I think you may be trying to remember Tinker Toys? That's what it reminds me of. What a creative little hubby you have!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for the sweet comment. The Chicken Chili recipe is one that my family really enjoys. I made a double batch on Friday night and had my whole family over. I have always used chili beans in it, but have just recently experimented with black beans instead. They are both good, but the chili beans are probably a little more "traditional".

I hope you like it and I hope you come back and visit again!

What a sweetie! Of course, the beauty for me would be if my husband actually did the dishes:)

I think MiMi is right about the Tinker Toys. And as Marmee said, the right attitude- with that and a sense of humor beauty can be found anywhere.

Oh wow Susie! That's a unique creation. So sweet of your hubby to come up with something like this. And I love your idea about finding beauty.

Susie said...

Dorothy-Sounds like Jeep is pretty good to you too! I would love it if my honey ask me if I want him to fix brunch for us.

Emilie-Tinker Toys? You are so right. I just couldn't remember that name. I enjoyed your blog much and will definitely be back to see what else I can find to cook.

Rose-Sorry your honey doesn't help with the dishes but I bet he appreciates your fine cooking!

Beckie-You are right, a good attitude and a great sense of humor. What a happier world this would be if we were all like that.

Kanak-He can be funny when he wants to. Beauty is all around us, sometimes we just have to look for it in a "different" sort of way.

That is special! and indeed worth a blog post! :D

Susie said...

Hey Jen-Can you tell I was desperate to find something to blog about?

very artistic and he obviously put a lot of thought into it!

Susie said...

shellmo-It was very unusual to show his "creative" side. I don't see that too much.

Connie said...

Awww...I think that is sweet! Apparently he took your advice and then created a little beauty for you to find as well. :D

Susie said...

Daisy-I guess so. I was like, "What in the world is this?"

Susie,
Thanks for the visit and sweet comment. I think you are right, it does look like flower and what better hand to receive it from than your very own sweet husbands! Have a wonderful day!
