A Great Week!

After our last rain on Monday, the weather cleared. We had warm sunshiny days and blue skies with temps in high 70's.

I've been back at work for a couple of weeks and we have really been getting the plants in. It's like Christmas in March. Even though we still have the danger of a possible frost people have been buying left and right. It's been a fantastic week! And I don't mean money wise, I just mean I love talking to people about their gardens and what they are interested in.

With all these plants we're stocking I'm always on the look-out for what I don't need that I gotta have. So this week I bit the bullet and purchased this little number.Okay, so maybe it isn't a little number but it is a Limelight Hydrangea. Racquel at Perennial Garden Lover has one of these and it is a beauty. She has shown it's beautiful white blooms and what a great performer it is, so I decided it was time to find out. I think it will brighten up this little corner of my fence.

Speaking of brighten, the other morning I was able to capture a couple of pictures that I want to share. They were taken about 7:00 a.m. when the sun was just beginning to wake up the sky and the trees.I hope you all have a wonderful gardening weekend!

I'm real jealous of your beautiful weather, would you believe that the temperature around here is supposed to go down to 25 tonight?

Good for you getting a new hydrangea! It will be fun to follow its progress this summer. Here in GA, we are enjoying the warm weather too. Nice days to work in the yard and listen to the birds. Enjoy your weekend.

Happy Spring Susie! I think you won't be sorry about getting that Limelight for your garden. I just adore mine and couldn't imagine my yard without it! It looks like it is in great shape, very healthy and filling out already.

Thanks NG-Happy spring to you!

Thanks Jen-50 isn't so bad. This is the first hydrangea I have had so I am very excited about it!

Terri-Me too!!!

Mildred-Glad to hear you are getting this lovely weather too! Hope you have a great weekend also!

Racquel-I couldn't wait to show you. I meant to put it in my last post and just forgot. I can't wait to see how it does.

I can't wait to see your new little beauty in all her glory this summer!

It's 56 and rainy here today! Not much gardening going on I'm afraid.

I love you sissy!

That blue sky is gorgeous! I think I would have a hard time working at a garden center or nursery--my whole paycheck would be spent before I even left for home:) I bought a Limelight last year, too, after seeing it on Racquel's posts. I planted it in late fall, so I hope it survived our harsh winter; they're beautiful plants!

I'm glad you've got some spring weather there! I love those hydrangeas, I have got one so I'll have to enjoy seeing your grow!
Now, I'm heading back out to the garden!

I'm glad you are seeing sunny skies! We have sunshine here but it's still too early to start planting anything.

I love that song, "My Jesus" on your playlist. Nice choice!

Our weather has been pretty nice as well, although we could use a little rain. But it's been great to be able to work out in the yard. I really like the picture of the moon you posted.

Susie, earlier I stopped by and left a message saying that my Limelight from Spring Hill isn't slated to get here until mid-April... well, I just couldn't stand it and went to GW today and bought one! Ha. I'm cancelling the Spring Hill order.
So, I don't need to worry if there is a late freeze? Thanks!

Jacquie-Bec said y'all were having cold and rain, sorry! We were lucky and had gorgeous weather again today.

Rose-It can be problematic getting a paycheck while working at a nursery. It's so much fun to see what comes off the truck. I'm always on the look out for anything different.

Thanks Catherine I'm glad you are able to be working in your garden. This will be the first hydrangea I've had. Hopefully, I won't kill it.

Milah-I'm glad you like that song. My song list is just a big mix of songs I really like. It was fun putting it all together.

Thanks George I like the moon picture too. I had tried to capture it earlier but I couldn't keep the camera still long enough to not blur it.

Ginger-I can't believe you went to Garden Works today. I'm sorry I missed you. Hope you come back by so I can meet you. How funny you had ordered that same hydrangea. I hope I don't kill mine. You know I never even gave it a second thought about a freeze when I planted it.

Susie said...

Jen-so you want one too? They are very pretty. Hopefully I won't kill mine.

Ginger said...

I will definitely be back and we'll meet! The man who helped me said Limelight would be fine if it freezes again. If it does, I'll probably cover mine with a sheet that night.
I actually went to Lakeland first, because it's so close to my house, but theirs was $37 as opposed to GW's $25! Theirs didn't look as good as the one on your blog, either.
Hope you're having a great weekend!

Ginger I'm having a great weekend! We went to the St. Patrick's Day parade. This was my first time to go. We really had lots of fun. I'll be blogging about it later. Love those Sweet Potato Queens. They were so funny!

Good luck with your hydrangea! I know Racquel loves hers!
Beautiful pictures of a pretty blue sky! Hope the weather stays warm for you..for us all! :)

It seems I'm getting busier with more writing opportunities just when the garden needs readied for spring planting. It's a dilemma I don't really mind. ;~)

Susie said...

Thanks Linda I'm probably going to need all the luck I can get.

TC-I wouldn't mind having that problem either.

I'm glad to hear the weather has improved for you, Susie. I hope the hydrangea will thrive for you. It is exciting to make new gardening plans. :D

I hope your Limelight hydrangea turns into a prolific bloomer. I LOVE the skyshots. Both so beautiful but the one with the moon---awesome!

We have had several beautiful days here too. We moved some flowers from Rockwood to our home. Will be doing some more of that.

Your sky is so blue. Lately ours has been blue nearly every day, for about thirty minutes!

I picked up two new plants last week myself. Early spring and the promise of summer is hard to resist!

I think we have been tricked! We have had such beautiful weather here & I even started moving some of my houseplants out and now there is snow in the forecast. I won't complain though we really really need the moisture. Just wish it was melted moisture and much warmer.
