Sorry no photos and glad of it!

Have you ever woken in the middle of the night and smelled something more different than usual? You know, a smell that isn't entirely pleasant.

Around 6:00 this morning when dh got up I smelled something funky which you might say smelled like a skunk. Well at 6:30 he came back into the bedroom to tell me he was taking care of an "issue". My first inclination was oh no, what's he done now. Well low and behold, it was nothing he had done. But it seems that last night when I went to close the garage door Mr. Skunk was in our garage and he didn't leave when the door shut. Oh my!!!

Dh had heard what he thought was a bird that was trapped due to the call it was making. He went to open the backdoor to the garage and saw two white stripes scurry across the floor. Needless to say he pressed the garage opener and shut the backdoor pretty quickly. But unfortunately it was waaaay too late! The damage was done. Mr. skunk had knocked things over and evidently everytime they made a noise he dosed it with a lovely smell.

Well unfortunately the "lovely" smell has come into our house as well. Also we are driving around two skunk mobiles!

So the moral of the story is, I'm glad I have no photos and secondly, What does a person do with this disgusting smell?!?!?!?

You poor lady! I hope you get rid of the smell.
When in doubt, google it.

I think baking soda solution might help.

My dad,(whose nose doesn't work anymore, was sprayed by a skunk. He did not even notice. But my mom sure did. He took a lot of showers.

Susie, I am so sorry. A cleaning lady introduced me to something called Odo-ban available at the grocery store that works wells but I must admit I have not experienced a skunk.

When you have a chance, could you email me at mildredwnalley@gmail.com? I had to delete my old email add. and I lost your email. THX

Oh no! A skunk sprayed our air-conditioning unit years ago. It was a long time before the smell went away!

Oh you poor things! I wish I had some advice. I know if a person gets sprayed they recommend tomato juice, but I don't know what you do for the garage & cars. :(

Oh Susie, I'm so sorry... We get that smell --but it's when they are OUTSIDE --and when we have the house opened. Even that smell can be horrible--but it does go away...

In your garage???? Yipes---You'll have to clean all kinds of things out of there in order to get rid of that smell.... Yuk.....

We don't leave our garage open anymore because of the skunks and raccoons... I'm so sorry that this happened to you...

Hugs,
Betsy

OMG, I know what you mean, we got a Black Lab that is sweet as he can be but dumb as dirt. We woke up one morning to a terrible smell sweeping through the house. We knew what it was and just though a skunk had gotten in the pump house and sprayed. Wrong, Levi had found a very very large, did I say very large skunk in the drive way and killed it, then brought it to the back door to proudly show us.
I had to get some wash from the vets to get the smell off Levi and we used everything we could to get the smell out of the car port. It finally wore off.
Needless to say Levi doesn't mess with skunks anymore. Thank Heavens
Molly

How dreadful for you, Susie. I wish I had some magic answer for you on how to get rid of the smell. I agree about looking it up on Google. There must be an answer out there for you somewhere. Good luck, and I hope you get it solved soon.

That doesn't sound like a very nice way to start the day. I have no idea what would work to take the odor out, but sure hope you can find something to help.

OH MY!!! That's awful!! I kept waking up the other night and thought that I had some chemical smell on my hands. It was driving me nuts and it kept waking up... then when morning came, I realized it was a skunk smell and it wasn't on my hands after all. I was just too groggy to realize what was going on.

I predict that smell will be around for a while. :(

Oh no, I feel sorry for ya'll.

I will have to tell you I laughed at "skunk mobiles", cause I've never heard that before.

Okay, I'm curious, what sound does a skunk trapped in a garage make?
