Today has been a very rainy and somewhat gloomy day. Due to the rain I didn't have to work which is nothing unusual. There is only so much a person can do at a retail nursery. So I have been one lazy person. Luckily I found a marathon on t.v. of "Fame". Remember that show? Loved it!
A while ago I looked out the window and caught this little hummer at the feeder.Maybe I shouldn't say, little guy, because he has obviously put on the weight for his big flight. Which reminds me I'm going to miss these guys when they are gone. We have had so many hummers this year, it's been such a joy to watch. Makes me kinda sad to see them leave.I grabbed this shot out the front window. The Kildee doesn't seem to be minding the rain. This is the end of our driveway. You can see how much rain we've been getting.
I'm hoping the rain will stop just anytime now but something tells me it isn't.
Hope you are having some sunshine in your part of the world.

No sun for us! As a matter of fact, I haven't seen the sun in ages. And, more rain is due tonight!
I took my feeder down a week ago as the hummers seem to be gone..and wouldn't you know, one lonley little guy flew by this weekend. Doesn't he know it's time to go south!
It is so funny that we can tell the hummers have put on weight for their flight. It is always sad when they do look larger, because we then know it isn't long until they are gone for the year.
It has been raining here too. Suppose to be pretty Tues, then rain the rest of the week.
Rain here too Susie! Hope the sun comes out soon.
Fame was one of my favorite shows!
What cute bird pictures. I don't think we get Kildeer here. He seems to be really enjoying the rain.
No sunshine here either. (sigh) If you see it up your way, please send it down here. ((hugs))

Rained all night here and some today. My hummers left about the first week of October. We used to see Killdeers in the field but it looks like this one is in town. Their babies are so cute!
Susie, how thrilling to get a photo of a hummer! They are kind of the 'holy grail' around here. So quick, but oh so pretty.
I've been wondering about you and the rain. Seems as though you have had a lot the past couple of weeks. No flooding I hope!
Everyone deserves a lazy day now and then. I certainly het my share in. :) Try to stay dry.
That IS a lot of rain. The hummers left our place at least a month ago.Nice that you got a picture of the hummer just before his big trip.
Lazy days are nice for awhile, aren't they?
Take it easy today and enjoy your lazy day. I know I am enjoying the rain and getting some painting done. Love your little hummer and Kildee.
I hope we get to go to GA. but it depends on the rain and DH's infection
That is one chubby hummer! Cute!
Susie, our rain is fast approaching, thankfully. Tomorrow and the rest of the week calls for rain which is desperately needed. We wish you sunshine. ;)
Rain here too, Susie..... AND we are going to Tullulah Gorge in GA on Wed.---and there's a 100% chance of rain there (heavy rain).... Oh Well. We'll get out the ponchos.
Our hummers are gone... Sniff! I miss them...
Stay dry!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
We haven't seen the sunshine for quite some time here in Oklahoma. Today was cold & damp, tomorrow heavy rain is setting in. Hope you get some clear sunny days soon!
I love rains when you are allowed to sit back and relax :)
Nice pictures!
That's a lot of rain, Susie. We've got sunshiny days now--much better after the slight rain we had recently. I like your bird pictures, the hummer, especially.
Hello Susie,
Our days are still warm and sunny, but I would love some rain. Could you send some our way?
Now don't go cuttting the collars out of your shirts!! LOL We are still having heat, with scattered thunderstorms.......maybe it will get in the 70's this weekend????
I'm sick of our rain. Ready for some sunshine.
Surprise chubbers could still fly with that little pot belly.

Rain and gray skies here too. Our hummers always leave around Sept 15th to begin their journey. I miss them too.

Sue,
I guess October showers aren't as exciting as the April flowers that bring May flowers. That is so much rain at the bottom of your driveway...I like the photo of the little Kildeer birdie, hunting for a worm or a tasty morsel in the rain.
Good thing that Kildee has such long legs, or it would be a duck!
Susie...no sunshine here in Texas...all we have had is gloom....rain....and more rain...we're going to be growing moss on ourselves soon....
i love those hummers too, most of mine have moved on. Goodbye hummers, travel safely!!
I have to admit there buzzing noise makes me nervous ever since a few episodes of horse back riding with the bees, hornets, yellow jackets. END result bucking horse, broken arm. NO FUN!!! that was many moons ago!!!
seeya,
the best is yet to come!!!

it's nice to see someone had sunshine to enjoy ...
What cuties they are ... great pics.
Have a great week. TTFN ~Marydon
We've had unseasonably chilly weather the past few days, but only a little rain. It was finally sunny and a little warmer here today. Hope you are getting some sunshine too. :)
