Back to Winter and a Gray Day

This tasting of 4 seasons in a week is pretty tough on a person. Yesterday it was a lovely 76 degrees with sunny/cloudy skies. Today it is in the mid 40's and lovely gray skies. Plus misting rain and very windy. Not a great day to be out in the garden. So what does one do? The one being me you understand! I bake!!! Check these out............These are my everything muffins. They make your house smell so good when baking not to mention your tummie growl. If you get real close to your computer screen I think you'll be able to smell all that yumminess oozing out!

Somehow I need to relate this to gardening so lets see.....................

I wish I could say I grew the carrots that went into them but no. Oh I know, no not the apples either. How about.................no, I don't have any grape vines from which the raisins could have come from. Let's see, hmmm......Okay this is as close as I can come. The pecans were locally grown. Actually they came from the park where I like to walk. They were everywhere but no one was picking them up. Well I don't miss a chance for free food so you can bet your sweet bottom dollar I I picked them up. I think they add such a delicious touch to them.

Well sorry you can't personally taste them so I'll eat one for every one of my readers. I should be sufficiently full after that! I hope all of y'all find something fun to do today!!!

Hmmmmmmmmmm---Susie, I think I could smell them!!! I got my big ole nose right up to the computer monitor. HA HA!!!

What a neat thing to do on a gray day. Did you all get any of those horrible storms yesterday? I guess they were east of you..

We're supposed to get snow and cold weather again tonight and tomorrow.

Have a great weekend and send me a muffin!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

Those look so good! I say baking is a great back up for a day too cold to garden. We're back to spring after a week of spring, fall, winter and now spring again. It gets a bit confusing doesn't it :)

Those muffins look so yummy. A perfect stay-in-the-house-and-keep-warm treat!! Looks like we'll be sliding all the way to church in the morning... if we get to have it at all!

I LOVE muffins! How neat that you can pick pecans in your park!! Now, do you say 'Pee - can ' or 'Picawn'. ?? =)
Doesn't all this crazy weather just throw off all of your plans!? We had 4 days of beautiful sun and warm enough to not wear a coat and then wham - a full day of snow.

Yummy! We will have that gray dreary day here today! Not supposed to get out of the 40's, AARGH! I'll probably be covering some plants tonight and maybe tomorrow night too.

Betsy-Thank the Good Lord Above we didn't get any of those storms. But we did wake up to a little dusting of snow this a.m.

Deedee-Then you have nothing to lose. By the way, lots of butter.

Mildred-As I told Deedee, lots of butter.

flydragon-Yeah, I probably would be a little on the sick side.

Bec-Chocolate covered marshmallows sounds really good too!

Linda-Girl the wind is blowing like crazy today. I thought we might freeze going in and out of church this a.m.

Catherine-The weather really keeps us guessing!

Jacquie-Yes, Bec is a nut! Her whole family is like that!

Elise-They are good! I also put dried cranberries and chocolate chips in them.

Marmee-Comfort food is the best!

Autumn-This weather is truly crazy! This a.m. we woke up to a light dusting of snow. As far as pecans, I say, Picawns.

Darla-Those muffins are yummy! Hope your weather is better than mine. The wind is blowing like crazy today and we had a little dusting of snow this a.m.

Thank you for eating a muffin for me. They look absolutely delicious. I think you found a great way to pass the time when you can't get out into the garden.
