At it Again!

During these past few days the bluebirds have been acting strange. They seemed to be hanging out at the blue bird box a little much. There has already been two broods this season so I thought no way for another. They even brought the last bunch of kids along with them. I thought maybe they were just showing them where they were born. But guess what? We now have a new nest and as of today 2 eggs. I'm tickled pink! I hope she lays another 5 eggs. How great would that be to help bring 15 new baby bluebirds into their population?

I know ya'll are probably tired of my posts on blue birds but I just can't help myself.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Fourth of July weekend!

You must have the best blue bird accomodations around! Congrats!

We have had a blue bird to keep fighting with his reflection in our window all week. I finally taped paper to the window to discourage him. I was afraid he would hurt himself.

Happy 4th! Keep us posted about the birdies.

Oh Susie----Your yard can now be called the Bluebird Haven!!!!! I'm so glad they are doing it again... I hope mine come back the 2nd time and have one more brood...

I do remember from last year that the juveniles DO help with the 2nd or 3rd brood. They even help feed the babies in the nest---and they help protect the nest.

CONGRATS!!!!
Have a wonderful 4th weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

Susie these are great pictures! One year our Bluebirds raised three families and started their fourth, but abandoned the nest because the weather had become super hot!

Susie, your yard must be the PERFECT habitat for bluebirds - amazing! We don't even have bluebirds here in NE Jackson, if you can believe that.

Happy 4th!

I had no idea bluebirds would have so many broods in one season. Your birdhouse must be the perfect place to start a family! I would love to see a bluebird in my own garden, so I'm enjoying seeing all the activity in yours--keep it coming!

I love to watch the birds too Susie, but they use us now only as a diner. We use to get nesters in the birdhouses, but I think the trees being gone has made the bird families seem less secure in our yard. We do love to watch them feed--if we can just keep the squirrel out of the feeder! :)

Fabulous! You may have a new state bird soon. ha.
My second brood is cooking now. I've been pretty good about leaving momma alone this time.
Congrats!

We're hoping that your bluebirds will inspire our bluebirds to have another brood. Mom and Dad Bluebird are still around, but we haven't noticed any activity around the nesting box. I don't think I would ever get tired of hearing about your bluebirds and seeing your picture.

Congratulations! They must love the house and your yard. That isquite an accomplishment to host 15 baby bluebirds in one season.

That is cool that you get to observe that at so close proximity! I hoped that bluebirds would come to my boxes but something about my location scares them away.
I never tire of bluebird posts, keep em coming if you want.

Hi Susie....how wonderful to have birds nesting in your garden! As for helping with the bird population...Congrats!! I'll always love your bluebird posts!

My brother-in-law passed away recently which was why I was out of cyberspace. It was cardiac arrest...and he was gone. It was so sudden and we're still trying to come to terms with the loss.

That is just amazing! They must really like that birdhouse. We have a pair of Wrens nesting behind our ripening blueberries. I feel bad disturbing them, but I want to eat our blueberries too :)
