In the Yard

Been out catching a few pics of blooms. I still don't have much blooming just yet.The salvia(hot lips, I think) is blooming and looking good. Arkansas Blue star is opening up. I love this grass. It turns a lovely gold color in the fall.Cheddar pink dianthus blooming. I like to brush against the blooms and smell the sweet aroma. Not sure how many blue bird babies we have in the house. We've been enjoying watching the feeding times.Proud papa.I have to admit I cheated on this pic. We were in Memphis a few weeks ago and I took this pic at Mud Island. I think this is a lilac but I may be wrong. Had a nice fragrance. Then I had a take a pic of this viburnum bloom. Looks like a big ole snowball. No smell but beautiful.

Lots of perennials coming up. Hopefully I will have more blooms to post soon.

It's about time you posted again!☺
You have a lot going on in your yard! Beautiful flowers and bluebirds. I peeked in one of our boxes and a bird was sitting on the nest and she didn't even fly!

I can't believe your salvia is already blooming! I bought two hot lips at the master gardeners' sale a couple of weekends ago.

How exciting about the bluebirds!

Hi Susie, thanks for showing me your Dianthus.... I never knew the name because the girl who gave us ours just called the PINKS. Have you heard that????

Yours are much farther along than ours though.. Our Phlox is still blooming and looks so pretty. Love your Salvia and your Arkansas Blue star. Gorgeous!!!

Congrats on your Bluebird family.... Soon you'll be having little ones around. How exciting!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

Susie your yard is blooming beautiful! Congrats on your Bluebird family, they are really making a comeback. And yes that's a lilac, Our bush is bigger than ever this year and the fragrance is the best. Enjoy!

The flowers are beautiful. And the ground here is dry enough to start digging, but freezing temps are keeping the flowers at bay.

Susie great shots. I love spring time and all the new birth of birds and flowers. It's God's sign that life is worth renewing.
I love your white Lilac bloom picture. They do smell great. I had a large bush in my yard and DH backed his 4 wheeler trailer over it and broke it down, never did come back or bloom again so I dug it up...sigh...men, like bulls in china shop...lol...
Thanks for sharing all your shots. Love proud papa...

The Pinks are so pretty, that's the look I'm going for at the front of part of my bed this summer.
That's great the Bluebirds were back again, I've always wanted to see one in person.

Love the flowers and the bluebirds. We're starting to see a lot of blooms here, too, but I am not nearly the photographer you are!

Things are really coming along over at your place! Dianthus is probably my favorite of all flowers because when I was little my parents had it in our yard and I would wait all year to stick my nose in it! I love how they smell!

Hi, Susie! Good to see all the blooms in your garden. The only Dianthus I have was planted in a pot a few years ago, but it keeps coming back year after year--now that's a hardy plant! How lucky you are to have bluebirds visiting you--hope they're the bluebirds of happiness:)

Fantastic white blossoms... so pure and reminiscent of snowball bushes we used to put on my grandpas grave. Cute bird too.

I am so happy spring is springing for you!

Those are the sweetest blue birds I have ever seen. How lucky that you were able to capture those pics. Love all your blooms you've got going on too. I do believe that is Lilacs--my favorite flower--too bad they don't grow down here.

Hope you have a good week.

Hi Susie, saw one of your comments on another blog today. I was worried that maybe your area had been hit by those terrible storms over the weekend. Glad to see you are ok. The news said something like 17 counties were effected. That is a lot of people with damage.

I also think it is a lilac bloom. My snowballs are blooming right now too, if the wind didn't bloom them away last night. (Been in Rockwood today....hope the house is still there when I get home tonight too!)

hay hay,

Love the color! Isn't it fun this time of year, watching everything wake up!!

So far most everything I have looks like it may have survived. OOPs, still waiting on signs of life from the Mexican Firebush and the Lantana. They are some of the last to wake up though.
