They weren't wrong

The weather men hit the nail on the head. It snowed! This is my backyard early this a.m. I think the name "Winter Wonderland" fits perfectly. It was just gorgeous! We got out since the roads weren't bad and took a drive down the Natchez Trace Parkway. The pictures can't really capture the beauty of it. It is so quiet. I think this was the prettiest snow I have ever seen. Usually the wind keeps the snow from accumulating on the trees but not today. We found a hill off the parkways that was very popular. People were out sledding and playing with their dogs. It was fun just to watch.

This afternoon is a different scene. Snow is still on the ground but the skies are turning blue and Mr. Sunshine is lighting up the snow. It's still very pretty just in a different way.

Hope you are enjoying the day as much as we have.

Hi Susie,
I'm so jealous of all my friends and family who live south of us!!! No Fair to get snow in the south of the state and not a flake in the north!!! I had to turn down Jeep's offer to drive me down south to see the snow because I had an appointment for a hair cut!

What pretty pictures. I love the second one with the road going off into the snow covered trees. I've pretty much given up on snow here this year.

Join the club! It has hit every state now, except for Hawaii.

I think I might build a snowman tomorrow. :>
Why not!

I'm glad you're enjoying your winter wonderland. It's strange for those of us in Tennessee to be too far NORTH to get any snow!
Your pictures are beautiful.

Amazing photo of the snow / trees along the road! Almost worth framing! We've had zero snow so far this winter but got dumped on today by rain.

I couldn't believe they were right!! My boss gave us the option to come in this morning, which noone took him up on. This afternoon, he emailed us and said the roads were fine (he had gone to work), so we should consider coming in - ha :) At least I got most of a snow day!
Pretty pictures!

This really is a winter wonderland, Susie! The second photo especially captures the beauty of the snow. I am tired of winter, but there is still something magical about the scenes after a snowfall.

Glad you were able to get out and enjoy the day--Happy Valentine's Day!

That is just beautiful. I love the fresh snow, however, I'm pretty well ready for spring now. It's been an interesting year for weather, hasn't it?

You have to love modern technology sometimes...I think they are pretty accurate. They even predicted the five foot snow that hit us in 2002 or sometime back then. My memory is not so good. Thanks for commenting on my daughter's drawing post, Susie.

I so love the quiet of the freshly fallen snow. We have yet to get any, but on occasion we have had a covering as late as April. ;)

Happy Valentine's Day to you and your husband. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Diana

I think we got more down south than ya'll did. I didn't risk getting out and going to work. We lost power most of the day. Kept me from being able to work on my sewing projects.

Did I already send you a comment? I was right in the middle of it I think when my internet shut down rather rudely. But hey you sure did get that snow eh? I miss it, but now I am so embroiled in early spring that I would miss that if the snow did come back 'round. I suppose embroiled is a bad choice of words because it is sort of negative but I am in a fight of sorts, which things get the precious space on the prop. bench, which muddy isle should I muck first, how many trees should I insist the girls prune in a day, those sort of innner arguments that make my day rich and my face smile.

Your winter wonderland is mighty pretty though that is for sure! I wonder if I'll be sick of spring by the time it actually gets here or by the time summer is late arriving! Oh well, I shant borrow trouble but instead enjoy all that southern snow from a distance and get my nose happily to the grind stone.

How often do you get snow down there any way? I don't think of snow and Mississippi going together.
