Saturday Scenes

This morning got off to a bang by my husband waking me at 5:00. At least it was his soft voice and not the alarm clock. We were off to Greenville, MS for the North State track meet. He's the girls coach but this was a coed meet.

When we first moved to MS we moved to Greenville. It is in the delta part of the state where lots of farming goes on. Also there are catfish farms.Greenville is a small place but luckily they have this grower nursery that I was able to work at. As we drove by it today I decided to snap a pic.It was a beautiful sunny morning with expected temps in high 80's. This is the quiet before the storm.Looks kind of like an art festival or something with all these canopies. In my days of track this didn't exist. We all hung out in the bleachers. Our girls did pretty well in the running events but it's the field events that kills us. After a very, very long day it was time to go.No, we didn't pass it up. Our gas in our home town is about 1.99 a gallon. What are you paying for gas right now? When you cross the bridge by the swamp you know you are close to home. I love the moss hanging from the trees. Sorry for the blurriness. Taking pictures in moving vehicles is not an easy task.

Hope you all enjoyed your Saturday.

Susie, lovely that you shared your day and the scenery with us. But 5:00 am on a Saturday?? :) Sounds as though you had a good day and even got a bargin in gas. We are right around the $1.85 mark, but that can change very quickly. Lots better than the $4+ of a few months ago!

Hi Susie, Sounds like you had a nice day--even if you had to get up EARLY. Ha!!!! Going back to Greenville must have brought back memories.

Our gas price today at our Kroger's was $1.85.. We did see one gas station near Lebanon, TN --which had gas for $1.72 yesterday. One never knows!!!!

Have a great Sunday.
Hugs,
Betsy

Sounds like a nice day! My oldest daughter runs track, this will be her 3rd year. What race did you run in track?

Hi Susie, I love going along with you on your trips. I also love the moss in the trees. We paid $1.99 today also.

Sounds like you had a nice day Susie. We pay about 1.89 here now for gas I think. I don't pay much attention since I have to buy it not matter what it costs, lol. ;)

Hi Sissy;

What's up buttercup? Sounds like you and Davey baby had a fun day. Did you get to eat at Jason's tonight?

Alvin and I worked at home all day and we are pooped. As matter of fact the birthday boy has been in bed for a couple of hours now!

Luv ya sissy!

What a sweetie you are to go with your husband to the track meet, especially when it meant getting up at 5 AM! This brings back memories--all my kids were in sports, though the oldest was the only one who ran track. Spring Saturdays usually meant packing up early and spending the day in a lawn chair next to the track or ball diamond. Some days I kind of miss that.

I think gas is at $1.85 here. Looks like a fun Saturday even though it started at 5am. You didn't stop at Denny for an extra early grand slam? Nice post!

Enjoyed the tour Susie. Even the swampy area looks great. Clicked on the last picture to look at the moss. Blurry, but can imagine how beautiful the scene must be.

It looks as if you had a very busy Saturday. I don't blame you for getting gas at the station you pictured. I try to fill up when I see a good price as well.

Sounds like a fun day and I love the swamp pics. I know that sounds crazy but every time I see swamps I am reminded of a fun trip we took.

I hear you on the blog thing you commented on over at my place. I am beyond tempted to push the delete button and be done with it too. I think I may have lost my focus a bit lately. I am going to be taking a break next week so I hope that will refresh me, if not, then maybe it is time to stop.

I hope you have a great week, looks like lots of rain here.
