Time Away

This past weekend we traveled to south AL for a little relaxation. We spent the first day at Dauphin Island.We had never been here before and enjoyed it much. It reminded me of a sleepy fishing village. It's not your typical beachy resort type area with tons of people.The next day we ventured over to Gulf Shores to enjoy the day with some of my family that was vacationing there. While there we enjoyed the beautiful weather, crystal clear water and fantastic food!But mostly I enjoyed getting to visit with my sis. Hardly ever do we get to spend time together so this was a blast.

    That's an area I've never visited - it looks beautiful. So glad you two sisters got to visit with each other and looks like you had great weather!

    Susie,

    I am jealous, you are at the beach and I am not! I hope you and your sister are having a fantastic time.

    Yes, I am looking forward to my "face lift" too. I may need a hair transplant by the time it is done. Handy Hubby has created quite the mess and I feel like that little vacuum on the Jetsons, zipping out to clean it up and then retreating until the next mess appears.

    Maybe I should insist on a beach holiday after we are all put back together again.

    Hi Susie, that first beach photo looks wonderful. Hardly anybody there. That's my kind of vacation. My sister and I don't get to spend much time together either.

    We went to Dalphin Island one time, and have been to Gulf Shores many times when the kids were at home. Those vacations were always very relaxing. Hubby and I talk about going back one day, but we always seem to head to the mountains! Sounds like you are having a great summer Susie! :)

    I know, it totally un~American or at least unfeminine to not like chocolate but I really can't stand the taste. But I like how it smells, does that count?

    I do remember the fat writing pencils, mine were always red. Such fun memories.

    Your beaches are so fantastically different from ours. My dad just swam in the Atlantic for the first time last week while in FL. I had to think ... I don't think I've ever been in the Atlantic. Even on the other side of the world in Australia, I was still swimming in the Pacific! We're headed to our ocean in two weeks. Hope to get some photos. Thanks for sharing yours! Looks like a wonderful, relaxing time with your sister!
