Lighting up the Skies

Last night we went to a 4th of July celebration at one of the local parks. They had a great show featuring some big band music. Chic-fila was there giving out their wonderful lemonade and the city was giving out watermelon. Then at dark the fireworks began. Hope you enjoy the show as much as we did! They had the American flag on the stage so I tried to capture fireworks and it in the picture. It turned out to be my favorite.Reminds me of a flower, jellyfish or meteorite flying thru space. Not sure what this reminds me of but I like it.Looks like lightning bugs woven together with string.

Hope you all had a wonderful celebration!

  4. Hi Susie,
I haven't tried to take photos of fireworks, yours are AWESOME!
Last night our fireworks were pretty good. It was so cold, we were snuggling up in blankets. I think it may have gotten down to 50 degrees. That's Nederland for ya.

  6. Nice pics! We had fireworks on our farm with a family picnic. I don't know where my nephews bought their fireworks but they were pretty impressive. Not like the sparklers and bottle rockets we use to have.:(

We had rain all day so our fireworks were all postponed, but that's okay. We needed the rain!

  18. We were too pooped for fireworks after spending the day at lake - too much sun and fun. We were sound asleep by 10 p.m. Glad someone enjoyed fireworks!

  21. Great shots, Susie--fireworks are not easy to photograph. It rained here all day, so the fireworks celebrations were postponed until Sunday night, not a good time for us to go. But many locals still set some off, and I had my own private viewing space in my backyard:)

  22. Hi Susie. I meant to try some fireworks photos too. When it came time to go, I was reading a good book and too lazy to get drive downtown. Fireworks photos look like such fun. Someday I'll get some.
