Colors on Monday

Here it is Monday and time again for Colors on Monday. Today's color is purple. To see other participants click on the link on my sidebar.I love my little purple shamrock or officially known as oxalis. I like how it shows off it's pretty foliage and after awhile the foliage all dies back and the plant sleeps. It has little pink blooms too. You can find this plant with just green foliage too especially around St. Patrick's Day.This is a liatris bloom. This plant was new for me this year. It had about 4 spike with these little blooms on each. Here's a view with all the spikes blooming.
And lastly is a new iris I had bloom earlier this spring. Sorry I don't know which variety it is but it helped cheer up my pitiful looking garden this year.

Hope everyone has a great Purple Monday!!!

  9. Susie yellow and purple is a favourite combination of mine - so that Iris is a real treat to see. Liatris didn't like my heavy soil and I really miss those pretty flowers.

  12. I have liatris by my pond, and love it. Your iris is beautiful. You don't see yellow and purple together that often on an iris. Very pretty!
    Lovely shamrock, too.

  17. Pretty purple! My favorite summer purple is Angelonia. That plant is the best thing to come around in a while. I plan to get more next year. I just hate that it is an annual though.
Happy Purple Monday (a day late!) :)

  20. I never knew a purple shamrock!! Cool. I was so pleased to hear the intro music for Fernando Ortago's song here. Give Me Jesus is one of my all time favorite songs. Fernando used to come and play at our church in Phoenix before he became so well known. What a swell servant of God he is.

  21. Liatris is a nice plant to have in the garden, it blooms every year here, sometimes quite tall, and this year it reached only about 12-14 inches tall.

Isn't it nice to have flowers blooming now and on into the Fall? Your iris does perk up the garden.

  22. A lovely iris, Susie! Thanks for reminding me of the common name for oxalis--a friend and I were trying to think of this the other day and neither of us could remember:) Purple is a great color in the garden.
