Some Flower Pictures

Since my blog is primarily about gardening I thought I would show what's blooming. With these high temps and no rain I'm sure my blooms are going to be pooping out soon.I'm really loving this Rudbeckia. Sorry I have no idea which variety but it's just like a ball of sunshine.These lilies are new for me this year. They smell divine. I really like coreopsis. This is Creme Brulee. It blooms all summer long for me.This is another new plant for me this year. It's the Rudbeckia maxima. They are taller than me. These three daylilies are new for me too! Sorry I don't know the names. And lastly as you can see my hardy hibiscus is starting to bloom. It's definitely a favorite of mine.

Hope you enjoyed my blooms. I'm hopeful I'll have more before they all burn up.

    Gorgeous blooms Susie. I love both of your new Rudbeckias. The first one is vibrant & has a nice mounding shape. :) Hope you get some rain soon so your flowers don't poop out. We had a nice shower this morning which was a nice thing to wake up to.

    Lovely flowers and nice varitey. I also love coreopsis, I have a few blooms getting ready to come out....soon it will be covered. I love how delicate they look and yet are very hardy.

    Hi Susie, Sounds like your weather is hot and dry. We've had little showers here and there, which keep us from being too hot.

    Love your flowers--especially the lilies and daylilies. That maxima (Rudbeckia) is huge... Wow!!!

    You have a happy yard. I remember when I was a little girl there was a lady who lived down the street who had a yard full of flowers. She was always "working" in her yard... but now I realize she must've LOVED it.

    I love the rudbeckia maxima, I've never seen it before. Rudbeckia really is like a ball of sunshine. I can't wait to smell lilies here, yours are really pretty.

    Thanks for showing your Rudbeckia! Ours has not bloomed yet and is still quite small so I'll enjoy yours while I wait. My favorite is the hibiscus - I think I need to go get one.

    It is really cool to visit your garden and see flowers we don't see around here. Rudbeckia Maxima, is that hard to grow? What a unique looking flower!

    Susie, that hibiscus is special! And so many blooms on it too! Love the yellows, and your daylilies are awesome. I've never grown such beauties. Lovely blooms in your garden.

    It's hard not to love a daylily; yours are beautiful! I've never seen a rudbeckia that tall before--they're pretty impressive. Hope you get some rain soon. After days of watching the dark clouds pass us by, I woke up to a nice rainshower this morning, so I'm very happy:)

    Love that daylily with the wine colored outline. Did you grow the rudbeckia from seed. It sure is pretty. I wanted to try Creme Brulee but couldn't find it locally. Yours has a creamier color than my Moonbean.

    Thanks for getting back to me. I looked up that beautiful Rudbeckia maxima and it only grows in zones 4-9. I'm in zone 13. I guess I'll enjoy it through pictures on your blog.

    Beautiful blooms Susie! I have cream brulee too..love them! I saw the comment about no bugs..how DO you manage that? Slugs and pill bugs are eating everything!

    Your weather is hot and dry and we continue to have lots of rain and storms everyday. If the daylilies ever get any sunshine they will have lots of blooms due to the all the rain we have had while the buds are setting.

    One time I bought 2 hardy hibiscus. The dinner plate size, one white and one deep red. Planted them next to each other. They both turned white. Have since been told the white is dominate in hardy hibiscus. They were a little late in telling me, by then I knew it on my own.

    Marnie I didn't grow these rudbeckia from seed. They came from the nursery where I work. I've tried growing them from seed but didn't have much luck. I may have to try that again some day.

    Linda-I don't really know why the bugs aren't too bad on my plants. I keep the beds mulched with pine straw, maybe that helps?!?!? Unfortunately the bugs are eating on my veggies.

    Sweet Susie your garden is delightful! I am trying my best to learn about plants and would love to eventually have a three season garden, right now I have a "right now" garden going, which means what I have right now is in bloom, when It quits I will have spent stalks!

    Loved the Rudbeckia - what a nice compact size too.

    Coreopsis has a hard time thriving here. I can't see to get one to survive over the winter and I've tried a few varities.
